Image quality was generally very good. The 1503FP was weak on the darkest and lightest gray shades (especially in digital mode), making it difficult to see highlights and shadows in photography and videos. On the DisplayMate tests, there was noticeable banding in color ramps and a slight olive tint to darker gray shades in analog mode, but these problems disappeared in digital mode.
The brightness measure of 175 nits, a little below average for the group, was fine for typical office lighting conditions. The contrast ratio was low, at 169, but that did not detract noticeably from the image quality. Though the uniformity score was good, there were noticeable bright spots on a full-black screen in the upper corners and along the bottom edge. Uniformity looked okay on a full-white screen.
Even though there was no pixel jitter in analog mode, the image quality was clearly better in digital mode. The remaining flaws are relatively minor, making the 1503FP a good value for a digital monitor.
